In 2003, I founded Aguiar Law Group, a U.S. immigration firm with office in Quito, Ecuador. In 2018, I joined Rangel Legal, as Of Counsel. Prior to Aguiar Law Group, I obtained my law degree from Willamette University College of Law and spent a year working in the United States at the law firm of Bennett Hartman Morris & Kaplan. In 2010, I obtained my Ecuadorian law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. I worked for six years in the legal field in the Ecuadorian public sector.
I have lived in the USA and in France, so I know the difficulties of living in a foreign country and adapting to a different culture and language. These experiences help me to be a better lawyer for my clients, whether foreigners living in Ecuador or in the USA.
My law practice focuses on family-based petitions, resolving complicated visa problems, consular processing, overcoming visa rejections, and securing waivers of inadmissibility. I have prepared clients for interviews before officers of the Department of State (DOS).
However, my commitment to clients does not stop at immigration. Recently I helped a foreign client move out of her apartment in Ecuador and distribute her belongings among her friends! Not only did I coordinate this effort, but the client named me as a person she trusts to fulfill her instructions in case of sickness or death while in Ecuador. Being able to help this elderly client with this high level of trust is what makes me happy to be an attorney.
